The blog is written in journal form, i.e. “What I did today and how I feel about about it.” However, I want to use it as a discussion place for my writing also. In a way, it’s a kind of motivation for me to write, because (theoretically) people will be reading it and ‘checking up’ on me – if I haven’t been blogging about what I’ve been writing, I hope people will make comments like “Yeah yeah, blah blah blah, I don’t care what the weather’s like, how’s your writing going?”
Other topics you can expect to see crop up frequently are my travels, what I’ve been reading and watching, and probably my weight and what I’ve been doing about it, although I wish that were something I didn’t have to worry about so much. It’s another kind of ‘checking in’ thing though: if I haven’t been active or if I’ve been sitting around eating cake all day, people should make comments like, “Go for a run, fatty.”
The blog started at the end of April, 2010, while I was on my way to Europe for the third time, but this time I was planning to stay, at least for a couple of years.
Update: Six weeks in…
So far I’m still really excited about writing this blog, plus it’s keeping me in touch with friends, so no complaints. 🙂
Update: Year 2BE(Blog Era)
Two years in (well, nearly). Back in New Zealand after realising life in London was stressing me out. Older, wiser, healthier, still blogging.
